My kids make my house look like a bomb exploded in it. Between the fake food, utensils, pots and pans for the girls’ play kitchen and my son’s building blocks, it’s nearly impossible to walk across the floor without stepping on something (and some of those little things hurt!) So when I stumbled across Lay-n-Go, I was immediately interested in the product.

Lay-n-Go is an activity mat, cleanup, storage and carryall solution in one.

Look how great this is! The kids play with all of those little things right on the mat. Then they leave it for you to clean up (that’s how it is in my house, anyways.) You cinch it closed, pick it up, and put it away. It’s that easy…or as they say on the site, it’s a cinch!

The Lay-n-Go is made of 100% denim on the outside, so you know it’s durable. The playside fabric is 100% nylon, so it’s tough and also a water repellent wipeable surface. You can purchase them in either blue or pink nylon, in two different sizes. The larger sized mat also has four clear 7”x 6” pockets on the playside surface provide a great way to stash and organize toys.

Now the mats aren’t cheap – the large one (5 foot in diameter) and is $64.95, and the other sized mat is 18 inches in diameter and is $24.95. Well worth it, it seems…as long as the kids keep the toys on the mat!

What do you think about the Lay-n-Go? Would it be worth it to buy for your kids?

I need like 3 of these per room in my house. For my stuff, too!

I think the idea is ingenious. Which mother is not forever coaching her children in the art of picking up toys on the floor, only to resort to doing it herself when they sleep? But the thing is, When the kids jumble all sorts of toys together, I want to organize it back into their respective boxes, or I’ll lose every toy I own.
