Kumon Write and Wipe Card Set

Remember going through reams of blue-lined paper as a kid to practice your printing? Well, things have gotten immensely easier for kids to practice their early writing skills. These Write and Wipe cards from Kumon are great for preschool kids to start learning to write their letters the right way as well as learning the alphabet generally.

These 5×6 inch cards are made of dry erase-board material so they can be used over and over again. These are so much more environmentally friendly than wasting pages and pages of paper! One side of the card has the printed letter. The letter has dots that illustrate the start and stop point of how to make the letter. This is SO crucial. My 2nd grade son had a teacher who didn’t correct him when he’d make a letter from the wrong starting point, and it’s a really hard habit to break in a child once they’re doing extensive writing on a daily basis.
So why not get started on the right techniques from the outset? The flip side of the card has a picture of an object that begins with that letter. So your child gets to practice learning his or letters, and practice writing them, and can work on beginning sounds as well. The multiple uses of the Kumon Write and Wipe Card Set make it really versatile. A number set is also included, as well as two dry-erase markers. I’d recommend buying a bulk box of dry-erase markers to go with this set because they dry out fast.
You can purchase this Kumon Write and Wipe Card Set at Mindware for $19.95. The Write and Wipe Card set is recommended for ages 2 and up.
