Kuff-Its

Kuff-Its

We are a tall family. My husband is 6’5″ and I’m 5’9, which means our son is genetically predisposed to being lanky and our daughter to being an Amazon.

To make matters more challenging, my kids are skinny. You’d think with all the ice cream they eat that they’d be nice and soft around the middle, but not so. My son HAS to wear slim jeans and my daughter? Pants are almost impossible for her.

This raises the problem of having The Kids Whose Pants Are Always Too Short.

It drives me bananas.

So check this product out. They’re called Kuff-Its. And they’re iron-on pants extenders.

The person who came up with this idea = brilliant.

You order the Kuff-Its in whatever fun pattern you want. You iron on the Kuff-Its to your kid’s too-short jeans using a proprietary strength adhesive bonding tape. This is serious tape. It doesn’t come off once put on, so..make sure your kid really likes the pattern you pick out!

Kuff-Its work on twill, khakis and jeans…not knits, because they stretch.

This is such an amazingly simple and fantastic idea.

Kuff-Its makes close to 30 different patterns for boys and girls’ pants up to about Size 5T. Apparently, they’ve got a product in the works for older kids’ pants as well. Hurray!

One set of Kuff-Its runs $13.

So it’s only really a value if you spend more than $13 on new jeans, right? Sometimes I can still snag my kid a pair of jeans for $10, so it would really have to be  a pair he or she really loved.

I’m not sure that you could get away with putting Kuff-Its on a boy’s jean for too long after about age 4…they just don’t like that much frou-frou.

But overall, I think this is uber-cool. I really do. You can see all of the different Kuff-Its patterns that are available by going to the Kuff-Its website.

Well, it might look a little too ’60s-hippie, but they should have iron-on knee patches too. Because by the time my kid has grown long enough (but not wide enough for new jeans) to need a Kuff-it, her knees have worn through.

ZB’s practical 4-in-1 design extends the life and length of your child’s pants. Your kids can wear them as shorts, long shorts/capris, long pants, and extended length pants. Created by a mom with two kids who are always growing into or growing out of pants. ZB’s pants grow with your child and are always “just right.”
