Sugary breakfast cereals are my weakness. Oddly enough, I don’t really like them for breakfast though. I like to munch on them dry instead of having candy or chips.

My current favorite cereal for snacking is Kellogg’s Krave. I believe it’s been out in the stores for a few months now. I didn’t really pay attention to it at first, until my son pointed out how cute the commercials were and asked if we could try it.

Krave comes in two different varieties: Chocolate and Double Chocolate. As much as I adore chocolate, the Double Chocolate cereal is just too sweet for me. But, the regular Krave is perfect.

It’s crunchy on the outside with a softer center. It’s chocolaty and satisfying, without all the fat and calories of a candy bar. It also has three grams of fiber per serving, so it’s not completely without any nutritional benefits.

My son likes Krave cereal too, although not quite as much as he loves Lucky Charms. He prefers to have it with milk though. I am fussy about what he eats during the week, but have no objection to letting him have Krave as a weekend treat.

Since I stocked up on Krave last week, I’m thinking I might have to try experimenting to see if I can come up with any snacks that can be made from this cereal. It seems like it might be a good base for making Puppy Chow or some sort of peanut and pretzel snack mix for the holidays.

Have you tried Kellogg’s Krave? If so, what did you think?
