This adorable Dinosaurs Finger Printing Art Set on the Barnes & Noble website is a great toy for creative kids. This cute little tin comes with 10 color pencils, 10 stamps, three ink pads, and a color ‘idea sheet’ so kids can use their finger prints to make unique dinosaur pictures for greeting cards, scrapbooks, and more.
There are several things I like about this kit. It’s creative, educational, and doesn’t involve batteries. The tin takes up very little space and keeps everything organized when you’re done playing. At less than $10, it’s a great price for a small birthday gift for when my son gets invited to parties for kids I don’t really know.
If you end up purchasing this kit for your own child, I’d suggest using it to make a keepsake gift for Grandpa and Grandma. A framed picture of a dinosaur made from your child’s finger prints is a little more unique than the traditional hand print craft, but just as easy and fun to make. If your child is a bit older, try making a border of dinosaurs to frame his or her school picture.
Generally, finger print art isn’t too messy to clean up. When I’ve done projects with my son and his friends in the past, we’ve been able to clean up using nothing more than baby wipes and a little soap and water. You will want to keep an eye on the kids though, just to make sure nobody tries making fingerprint dinosaurs on the walls!
