One of my favorite memories from when I was a child was playing in the playhouse that my dad made for my brother and I. We were lucky enough to have a dad with great carpentry skills, but today’s kids can get a playhouse even if there’s no one around to build it from scratch.
Little Tikes makes lots of adorable playhouses for children, including this cute home and garden playhouse.
I love Little Tikes products because of the attention to detail and the opportunities they provide for kids to use their imagination. I especially like how this one includes a mailbox for sending letters, play tools for making home repairs, and a space for growing real flowers in your own garden.
It’s big enough for two or three kids to play in comfortably and the open design makes it easy for you to keep an eye on your children while they’re playing.
My son is too old for the Little Tikes playhouses now, but we had a basic model that he was able to enjoy for several years. It was easy to assemble and keep clean, since we just hosed it off whenever it started to get dirty.
It faded a bit in the bright sunlight, but held up to our tough Midwestern winters very well. All in all, it was a great investment that was easy to sell at a garage sale when we no longer needed it for our family.
Does your child have a playhouse? If so, what model did you choose? What does your child think of the purchase?
