Indaway Designs Kids’ Aprons

Indaway Designs Kids’ Aprons

Most kids are aspiring little chefs. They love helping in the kitchen, whether it’s to mix up some cookie batter or to try and rig up some baking soda into an explosion (that’d be the boy in the family).

I happen to do a ton of cooking and baking, especially at this time of year. And in order to protect my designer clothing – I mean my halfway decent t-shirt – I usually wear an apron. Not only is it good for my clothing budget, it’s good for the environment. When I wear an apron, I’m more likely to just wipe my hands on the apron, rather than reaching for the paper towels and wasting more paper.

But when the kiddos see me in a cool apron, they want one, too! And Indaway Designs has the answer: cute and functional kids’ (and women’s!) aprons at a reasonable price.

Indaway makes handmade aprons for moms, boys and girls.  The picture shown above is the super cute Ella style for girls. Made of cotton fabric, it has a handy divided front pocket and adjustable velcro neck straps (who wants to deal with tying?).

If you’ve got a rough-and-tumble boy looking to help in the kitchen, check out this boy design called Payton, with frogs all over it.

If you and your daughter are all about being cute and matchy-matchy, you can get coordinating aprons that tie around the waist. These are called hostess aprons. So adorable and retro! Plus, they’re dressy enough to wear over a nice outfit on a holiday or during a party.

Indaway Designs kids’ aprons run about $15 and are available in sizes 4-8.  The women’s aprons range in price from $15 to $30. They have a ton of styles.

To order an apron or to see more designs, go to Indaway Designs’ website.

These are so cute. Too bad I don’t have a girl for the hostess aprons. I am excited about the frogs one. My son might finally wear an apron when he helps in the kitchen. He is not such an apron fan, going instead for gooey batter and squeezable dough.

I have to pass on this one. Every time I get the urge to bake (which comes on suddenly, and only a few times a year, about three hours before we have to go to party) I find myself in my usual “uniform” of all black. Just perfect for handling flour and gooey cookie dough. :)

There is no pretense of even trying to stay clean. And as for my kids helping me … ha! My youngest will say, “let’s bake cookies, Mom” and then once I start, he heads out of the kitchen saying, “call me when they’re ready for tasting!”
