The 16″ Huffy Disney Princess bike was a surprise gift for my daughter a few months ago. The bike is perfect for a complete girly-girl who has to have everything pink. There are streamers, plenty of pink, and a basket/seat that looks like a carriage for her favorite princess doll to hitch a ride in.
My husband said it was easy to put together, and it didn’t take him as long as he expected it to. One of the reviews I read said that the carriage won’t stay on, but that hasn’t been an issue for us.
The bike is sturdy, but it’s not so heavy that it’s a terrible pain to load up in the car and take it to the park. It’s only around 26 lbs.
After using a tricycle for a while and never quite getting the hang of it before she outgrew it (it was not the best design in the world), she took off on the bike the first day without any problems.
Pedaling is a breeze, steering is easy as long as she remembers to look up and not down, and the streamers and princess-carrying carriage make it so much more fun to ride.
Another thing that I like about this bike is that she can just reverse the pedals to brake if she gets scared about going down a hill too quickly. She doesn’t have to put her feet down on the ground or remember to use hand brakes to stop.
For reference, my daughter is four years old. She’s around 42 lbs and 45 inches tall. The 16″ size is perfect for her. There’s also a 12″ size.
