Since I live in a rural community, I do a lot of online shopping when it comes to finding items for my home. I usually make a point of reading the product descriptions carefully, but I clearly missed an important detail when I bought this Household Essentials wicker chest.
I originally purchased this chest to use as a dresser in my bedroom. Once it arrived, however, I realized it’s way too small to be useful for that purpose. It’s not even big enough to fit a fraction of the clothing in my son’s room, much less clothes belonging to a full-grown adult.
I did think about returning the Household Essentials wicker chest, but it is adorable and nicely made for the money, despite being smaller than I expected. It comes fully assembled, so there’s nothing for you to do other than unpack it and enjoy.
I ended up sticking it in the hallway as a place to store my son’s coloring books and some of the miscellaneous small toys we have no room for in the rest of the house. It would also be a really cute end table in the living room or as an extra storage area in the bathroom if you need a place to stash your makeup or your daughter’s collection of hair accessories.
We’ve had several people comment on how pretty the Household Essentials wicker chest is when they come to visit, although they’re all amused by the story of how I am apparently unable to measure things properly.
Have you ever made any online purchases that turned out to be not quite what you expected? How did you handle the situation?
