I remember when the girls were learning to feed themselves. The concentration that it took to get the spoon into the bowl, and then get the food on the spoon. The determination of getting the spoon to their little mouths – without spilling the food – and then the frustration of not being able to get the spoon directly in their mouths. When I recently stumbled across Learn ‘n’ Turn‘s website, I thought: Why didn’t I think of that?!

Remember back when your kids were learning to self feed and they’d put the spoon sideways near their mouth? According to the site, “…very young children have difficulty using spoons and forks because the bones and muscles in their hands and wrists are still developing. Which means they aren’t able to easily rotate and manipulate conventional utensils.” The Learn ‘N’ Turn design allows you to adjust the angle of the spoon to help babies and toddlers feed themselves more easily.

The spoon or fork attachment can rotate to various positions, so food can be easily placed into his or her mouth. As your child’s dexterity improves, you can then adjust the angle of the spoon or fork until your child is eating from it in the straight position, like a “regular” spoon.

The spoon actually detaches from the handle so that you can place a fork attachment on it, so there’s no need to buy separate utensils…the Learn ‘n’ Turn is an all-in-one!

It’s BPA and lead-free, dishwasher safe and costs around $10.00. I don’t know if it’s worth it or not…what do you think?

I think i’d rather my baby spills the first few times and learn it the right way.
