Hats for the Whole Family at San Diego Hat Company

Summer’s approaching, and that means long days in the sun and heat. We all know how important it is to protect our skin from the sun, and we use sunscreen religiously. But some moms, myself included, might not think about protecting our children’s delicate scalps from the sun.

I always remember to lather the kids up with sunscreen throughout the day, but I’ll admit that I do occasionally forget to apply sunscreen to the tops of their little heads. This results in a very cranky baby and a painful sunburned scalp that is hard to soothe.

One of the things that I’ve learned to do is always make sure to keep hats with us when we’re outside for long periods of time. The kids don’t seem to mind wearing them, and their heads are protected from the sun. Added bonus? The hats also shield their faces and eyes.

The San Diego Hat Company offers a large variety of fashionable hats for the entire family.

girls crocheted hat

This cute hat is hand crocheted and my girls would love it! It’s available in two sizes: 6-12 months or 1-2T.

cowboy hat

This raffia cowboy hat is a hat that my son would probably never take off. I like the little ties which would help the hat stay on.

womens hat

I want this hat! This 7″ brim sun hat also has a ribbon sweat band and is UPF50+rated. No sun getting through this hat!

I recommend that you head over to check out the hats at San Diego Hat Company, and if you do, tell me which hat is your favorite!

Your little kids don’t mind wearing hats?? Every little kid on the planet seems to derive complete joy from pulling off every hat a mom tries to put on … you know, it’s the game that never ends!

Of course I’m usually talking about winter hats, but they have a very low tolerance for baseball caps and summer “bucket” hats.

I love the first crochet hat. i wish i had a girl. for my boys, i still like traditional caps, as they can lay with it and the brim doesn’t bother them, it only serves as a sun visor in the front.
