The Gymini Tiny Princess gym is a large mat that rests on the floor and provides a safe, stimulating environment foe your baby. The borders can remain open for a larger play surface or close up to contain baby and make her feel safe.
Like many activity mats of its type, the Gymini Tiny Princess Musical Kick & Play Activity Gym has two bars that come down to each corner and hold a variety of hanging toys that encourage baby to reach out and use those hands she’s become enamored with. While she might strike at the hanging toys accidentally at first, she’ll soon learn that she can control her arms and will start to reach out intentionally. The mat includes a large mirror and colorful illustrations which encourage baby to lift her head while on her tummy.
One of the unique aspects of the Tiny Love Gymini Tiny Princess is an adjustable Kick and Touch response pad. Set it upright and it becomes a kickboard that plays musical notes when touched by baby’s kicking feet – great for encouraging her to use those leg muscles. For tummy time, lay the pad flat and it plays notes when touched by baby’s hands.
While the kickboard can be a lot of fun, all the colors and sounds can get to be too much stimulation for some babies. If your tot is sensitive to sounds and other stimuli you may want to limit use of the Total Playground and see how she reacts.
Overall, though, the Gymini Tiny Princess Musical Kick & Play Activity Gym is one of the best activity mats we’ve seen. It retails for around $125 (as a bundle, which includes a crib mobile), so it’s certainly not the cheapest activity mat out there, but the Kick and Touch response pad makes this item unique. You may see other versions of this product called Tiny Love Gymini Total Playground Kick & Play activity center, but the basic components are similar.
