For most things, I have very little brand loyalty. I will buy items because they’re on sale or in a convenient spot, regardless of what brand they happen to be. But, laundry detergent has always been a sticking point with me.
I’ve used All Free and Clear for years because my family has sensitive skin and it’s been a pain to find detergent that doesn’t make anyone sneeze or break out. But, while All does an acceptable job of cleaning my clothes, sometimes I find myself wishing for detergent that makes them smell nice, too.
Testing Green Works laundry detergent made me a little nervous, even though the label said it was good for sensitive skin. But, I’m happy to report that nobody in my family had any negative reactions to this product. I was pleased with how clean our clothes were and I really liked the scent of the original detergent.
With the Clorox label on the front, I expected it to smell like bleach, but the scent was fresh and kind of citrusy. It wasn’t enough to overpower my perfume, but I could definitely tell the difference when I was folding our laundry. The detergent made our bed linens smell especially nice.
Green Works also has detergent in a lavender and fragrance free varieties. All items are safe for both standard and high-efficiency (HE) washers. The products have no phosphates, optical brighteners, or harsh chemical residue and have been tested by a dermatologist.
