As a freelance writer, I love to color code my notes when I’m working on a long-term project. But, I hate it when my highlighters start to dry out or bleed through the paper. This is why I was thrilled to discover Green Apple Highlighter Pencils. The idea of a highlighter with the convenience of a colored pencil is simple, yet oddly brilliant.
Green Apple Highlighter Pencils have the same familiar colors as traditional plastic highlighters, but work just like a pencil. They are sold in a four pack of pink, green, orange, and yellow highlighters.
You need a jumbo pencil sharpener to sharpen them, which is a bit of an inconvenience in my opinion since that means they won’t fit in the electric pencil sharpener on my desk. Overall though, they seem like a really cool product. I’ll definitely be buying some for my home office the next time I need to purchase highlighters.
My son isn’t old enough to need highlighters for school yet, but I imagine these would be great for older kids as well. I remember lost caps for highlighters being a huge problem for me as a high school student.
The “cool” factor aside, Green Apple Highlighter Pencils are an eco-friendly purchase. They have no ink solvents or volatile organic compounds. They are biodegradable with a natural wood finish. If you’re trying to do your part to help the environment, keeping plastic highlighter barrels out of the landfill seems like a good start.
Green Apple Highlighter Pencils are made as part of a partnership between Red Apple School Supply and Stubby Pencil Studio. The Green Apple product line includes a range of pens, pencils, crayons, markers, and more so that all of your office supply and school supply needs are covered.
What do you think of the Green Apple Highlighter Pencils? Is this something you’d buy for yourself or your child?
