Girls Can Be Anything!

Remember when you were a kid, back before video games and all kinds of other tech gadgets, when we had to actually use our imaginations to play? And we played board games (on boards, not on the computer) and things like paper dolls were popular?

I loved paper dolls, and guess what? Now there’s an iPhone app called Girls Can Be Anything that your little girl will love, and you will too!

While kids are now tech savvy from a very young age, parents are always looking for ways to keep their children engaged and entertained while waiting at the doctor’s office or driving in the car. This app is perfect for little girls.

It was created by blogger and social media expert Aliza Sherman after her 4-year-old daughter told her that she couldn’t be a doctor because only boys could be doctors and that girls had to be nurses.

The Girls Can Be Anything app is a family-friendly, kid-inspired, mom-approved dress up game for kids. The app also emphasizes positive, age-appropriate images and messages for young children. It will inspire little girls to aim high in their role-playing fantasies, whatever they might be.

It is the first in a series of apps and products that she’s hoping to produce, and every app also provides free space and awareness to Global Girl Media, an organization that hopes to empower underprivileged women around the world. For just 99 cents, you can’t go wrong!

    Paper dolls have always been great. I do remember getting frustrated as a little girl that the tabs you had to fold over to keep the clothes on never seemed to work for long. So an app that simulates it for a dollar is just fine.

    I do have one comment about it being motivational for girls … really? I mean, we’re just dressing up a female figure. So it addresses and focuses on superficial looks – how a girl looks from the outside, we’re dressing the body.

    its a good idea, still i’m sad to see paper dolls go, in exchange for multimedia. that being said, i’m glad that she came up with this app. i love the motto. Girls can be anything. I should tell it to myself. Really i shouldn’t. i’m glad about who i am, writer and mother and girl and wife all in one.

    I love this! I have a lot of paper doll type apps on my iphone but I really don’t like the skimpy clothes and options. With this one I love that it can inspire my girls. Yes I can definitely see me downloading this app. My girls will love it.
