Get Your Little One A SweetSeat!

So here’s what has been going on at my house lately…my almost-2-year-old daughters want to sit at the table with us just like their almost-4-year-old brother does. This creates a lot of issues because they can’t sit in the chair and still reach the table, and when they kneel in the chair it hurts their knees. They try to stand up and eat, but end up pushing themselves away from the table…which of course creates a safety hazard.

Sigh.

Now when we were kids, my mom would use a couple of the Yellow Pages phone directories and plop us down on those to help us reach the table. I don’t even think that we have any of those phone directories in the house!

So what I’m coveting lately are these super, and I mean SUPER CUTE handmade booster seats by SweetSeat. The seats come in a variety of patterns, from polka dots and florals to houndstooth, for both boys and girls. And the material is covered in a child-safe, food-friendly laminated cotton which is super easy to clean. Just wipe with a damp cloth and be done with it.

Because of the size and weight of it, it is also easy to transport. The sturdy round base rests solidly on most chair bottoms and are very stable. The back is high enough to give  support to your child so that she can sit in it and be able to reach the table with no problems.

Now here’s the catch for me: each seat is $84. I really want these chairs, but cannot justify spending $168 on them for the girls!

What do you think? Would you buy an $84 booster seat? If I only had one, I think that I just might!

I know there is another company, must be little tykes or fischer price, you know the ones that were around in my times, that is a booster seat, only with safety features. Doesn’t look half as cute, but more sturdy on the chair. it comes with fasteners and is made of hard plastic.

Now I am a sucker for cute stuff at almost any price, and these are cute.

But I don’t think I could spend $80 for a chair booster. There are lots of other options out there more reasonably priced, with more secure fasteners. I did pick one up on my travels that I love, but for the life of me don’t know the brand and have never seen it in North America.

So I love polka dots more than anything. These are adorable! That is a lot of money though.I bet it gets so frustrating buying two of everything for your twins. :)

These are ridiculously expensive for all they are. There are many other booster seats available by Fisher Price, Safety 1st and other brands that offer safety features, this one doesn’t seem very safe at all. It has no straps to attach it to the chair. Our four year old uses a cheap, basic booster that cost £8 and it still has safety straps to attach it to the chair and it’s super comfy. When our almost two year old stops using the high chair we’ll be getting her the same cheap seat.

I’ve always ordered things like  booster seats and high chairs from restaurant supply companies…most have no minimum order.
