Facebook Onesie

Facebook Onesie

The other day, my 5 year-old saw me online and said, “Can I have a Facebook page?”

I said no, obviously.

The next day, I learned that not only does she pay attention to commercials, but she does an excellent impersonation of Betty White. She ran up to me and in her best Betty voice and said, “I’m on Facebook! And the Twitter!”

And this is when it occurred to me that social media is here to stay and it can start to permeate even a 5 year-old’s life.

So if a 5 year-old has some vague idea of what Facebook is (and it is truly vague)…why not wrap your baby up in some Facebook duds?

This is a personalized Facebook Get Connected onesie from Corner Stork Baby Gifts.

It’s for that discriminating, social-media loving baby in your life, or a perfect baby shower gift for that mom whose laptop and iPhone have become permanent appendages.

I think it’s pretty funny.

The onesie is made of 100% cotton, is short-sleeved and has the normal snap closures at the crotch. It comes in size 6-9 months or 9-12 months. Personalization can be had for up to 12 characters.

I wonder if Facebook licensed the use of their logo? Hm.

Anyway, the Facebook onesie is $16.99 and you can go buy it at Corner Stork Baby Gifts.

whenever you post about children and technology advancements, i get this resistance that gives me a heaviness. Children and the world have come so far? Gosh! But its cute, being that the world is what it is.

I have a similar feeling, Jenny. It’s hard to embrace the cuteness when it’s a corporate, social site that being pushed down everyone’s throats. Of course I use the site too, who doesn’t, but I wish it was less invasive in our lives.

I’m struggling with trying to keep my older child from having both an email address and a facebook account. Apparently he’s the ONLY child in his grade without one. Really? Can I be the only parent with some sense left? :)

The visual image of a 5 year old doing that Betty White impersonation cracks me up.

I can’t imagine what it’s like to raise kids in this age of social media. I find it hard enough to police what I reveal about myself online, let alone a kid or teenager.
