Etsy is one of my favorite places for “window shopping” because there are so many wonderful and creative products for sale. If you’re looking for infant or toddler toys, I recommend checking out Apple n Amos.
Apple n Amos specializes in Montessori and Waldorf inspired wood toys. The toys sold in the shop, in addition to being fun, help kids learn colors, letters, numbers, and early math.
Apple n Amos is one of the more well known Etsy shops. It was voted #5 for best toys and #35 for best Etsy shop by Babble.com. Apple n Amos has been on Etsy since September 2010 and maintains a 100% positive feedback rating.
My personal favorite item from this shop is the wooden memory game featured in this post. My son loved playing memory as a toddler, but the cardboard versions of the game we had always seemed to get bent, ripped, or otherwise damaged.
This beautiful wooden circle seem like a much nicer alternative. If your child isn’t into the whole “Monkeys in Space” theme, there are several other memory game designs in the shop for you to pick from.
For handmade wood toys, all of the items in the Apple n Amos shop seem very reasonably priced. Most are not much more expensive than the plastic toys you’d find at Walmart or Target.
Orders from Apple n Amos are shipped within five days of receiving payment. The delay in shipping is because each item is handmade when the order is placed. The shop’s owners are based in Connecticut, but will ship orders internationally if desired.
