Even if you’re not into origami, the pretty patterns and colors in origami paper have lots of other interesting applications. One of my favorite Etsy shops to browse is Squishy Sushi. She makes unique jewelry using origami papers, including pieces like this colorful bangle bracelet.
I love all of the fun colors in this bracelet. It’s one of those pieces I can see wearing with anything in your closet, although I tend to gravitate towards pairing multicolored jewelry with simple outfits like jeans and a fitted black t-shirt.
The bracelets are sold individually, but I think they’d be great to buy in pairs. Wouldn’t a stack of colorful bangles be awesome as a style statement?
If origami paper isn’t your thing, Squishy Sushi also has jewelry made from maps, magazine ads, and newspapers. Some of these pieces have a more subdued monochrome scheme, in case you’re not into the brightly patterned stuff.
Squishy Sushi also makes adjustable rings with Scrabble tiles that are awfully cute. There are even cufflinks that would make a nice gift for the man in your life.
Places like Etsy tend to make me a little nervous when I’m dealing with unknown sellers, so I always check to make sure the item I’m interested in buying is being sold by someone with a history of reliability.
Squishy Sushi’s shop has 100% positive feedback from 553 customers, which seems pretty impressive to me. She’s been with Etsy since 2008.
What do you think of Squishy Sushi’s jewelry? Do you have any other fun Etsy finds to share?
