Entenmanns Donut Maker

So, you love donuts, and you’re too lazy to either a) go to the donut shop to pick up a dozen or b) go to the grocery store to get a box. What’s a donut lover to do?
Apparently, you go make donuts in the microwave with the Entenmanns Donut Maker.
This comes with enough…stuff to make 12 donuts and it includes chocolate frosting and sprinkles for decorating.
And good news! All of these sure-to-be-highly-processed ingredients are made in the U.S.A.
I’m not exactly sure how this thing works. But it appears you mix some goo in the top of the Donut Maker. You squeeze said goo into the donut mold. You put the donut mold into the microwave and radiate that goo for several seconds.
Out come the donuts.
If I sound a little bit skeptical of this product, it’s because I’ve had a little bit of experience with eerily similar items. Last year, I bought a cupcake maker for my 5 year old. It was the ONLY thing she wanted for Christmas. How could I crush a young girl’s dreams of making cupcakes in the microwave?
Well, let me tell you. That cupcake maker made the most disgusting creation I’ve ever tasted. It honestly tasted like a synthetic cupcake. Worst.product.ever.
Call me a food snob, but I don’t believe that any sort of baked good should be made in the microwave. Especially donuts. What good is the caloric content of a donut if you don’t even get the benefit of the deep fryer?
Anyway, I found Entenmanns’ Donut Maker selling for roughly $20.99 over at KMart online. I wasn’t able to discover how you purchase extra goo packets to make the donuts, or how much they cost. Or you can buy it at Amazon:
I’m sticking with Dunkin’ Donuts and Krispy Kreme!
