Do your children love trains? My son had a three year phase where he was obsessed with trains! His absolute favorite was Thomas the Tank Engine, of course, but he collected several other types of trains as well. I know he would have loved the Melissa & Doug train engineer role play costume set.

My son would have easily spent hours pretending to be a train engineer in this outfit. He would have especially loved the ability to personalize the name tag that comes with the outfit.
Also, if you’re thinking ahead, Melissa & Doug outfits are a much better choice for your child’s Halloween costume than a discount store outfit that is likely to rip halfway through trick or treating.
The costume would be easy to make weather appropriate if needed, since you could layer long underwear or a cozy sweatshirt underneath to make sure your child stayed warm throughout the night. You would probably want to leave some of the props that are included at home though, just to make sure they don’t get lost while you’re out collecting candy.
