About a month or so ago, I introduced you to Eco Nuts Soap Nuts. Eco Nuts Soap Nuts are an actual berry that grows in the Himalayas that naturally produces a soap. These nuts have been used to wash laundry for thousands of years throughout Asia. The soap (called saponin), is a natural cleaner that Eco Nuts sells as laundry detergent that you can purchase in liquid or nut form.
These nuts, yes they are really nuts, are 100% natural and there’s nothing artificial about them. They are USDA certified organic, fragrance free, hypoallergenic, biodegradable and antimicrobial. And all Eco Nuts packaging is 100% compostable or 100% recyclable with no plastic.
While I was writing the feature, I got more and more curious about whether or not these soap nuts really work. So I decided to find out.
I went to the Eco Nuts website and purchased a trial size Eco Nuts Soap Nuts box (enough for 10 loads) for $4.
I tried it this morning for the first time. You take the nuts (there were 5 of them) and place them in a little cloth bag that they come with and toss them in the washing machine. Add your clothes, and wash everything on cold. Added bonus – you don’t need to use fabric softener if you don’t want to.
Let me tell you, I’m sold on these soap nuts! They worked just as well as my usual laundry detergent and my clothes came out feeling just as soft. They smell “clean” and that clean smells good!
Disclosure: Nobody asked me to pay or write this review. I was so impressed I wanted to share this with you!Â
