Djeco Origami Planes
When I learned I was pregnant with a boy, I expected a lot of things as he grew.
I expected dirt. Bugs. Boogers. The destruction of household items. A fascination with race cars and dinosaurs.
I did not expect The Origami Obsession.
Saturday mornings in our house usually involve me stepping out of my bedroom and seeing that my floors are now carpeted with paper airplanes – which are cleaner than my carpet, so it’s not a bad thing.
They are everywhere.
My son will sit there and make plane after plane in different styles. I usually get looped in to make the complicated folds. Did I mention that I am horrible at origami?
So we have origami books and plenty of paper. But what my son doesn’t have is a really cool origami kit that has everything you need to make way-cool planes.
This kit from Djeco fits the bill.
Unfortunately, the product page has a complete and utter lack of any sort of product description. I have no idea what the kit includes. But from carefully scrutinizing the photo, it appears to come with origami paper and some really cool stickers that serve as the plane windows, signs, and other decorations.
That’s neat, because I’m thinking that if my kid took the time to actually decorate one of his origami planes, he might not make 735 others in one day. Maybe he’d actually play with just one.
It only costs $10, so it’s probably worth me giving it a try. There are other origami kits available as well, such as one for paper animals and origami faces.
