I live in Southern California where people rarely have to put on “real” shoes. Most of the time, even in the winter, you’ll find us running around in our flip flops.
I adore flip flops and probably own more than 20 pairs. In fact, I’m sure I have more than 20! I don’t always buy expensive ones, but I do own a few that I paid some money for…like my favorite brand, Havaianas.
You can pick up a pair of Havaianas for everyone in your family – they sell sandals and shoes for women, men, and kids…they even have some for babies. A pair of women’s sandals can cost as little as $20 or go up to almost $100. They even have a few styles that cost almost $200.
But what I really wanted to tell you about was that you can Make Your Own Havaianas in 4 easy steps!
Havaianas allows you to choose the base color of your sandal, the strap color and two pins on the straps of each shoe (4 pins total).
I had fun playing around with all the different color variations that you can choose from. They have about 20 colors for the actual flip flop and straps. There are also 40 or so different pins you can choose from, though the alphabet makes up more than half of them.
The design I came up with ended up costing about $35. It was fun to do, but I don’t need pins on my flip flops and the 4 pins cost $10. I’ll stick to my Plain-Jane flip flops, thank you very much!
What do you think? Are you going to design a pair of Havaianas for yourself?
