Coppertone iPhone App For UV Protection

by admin on July 6, 2010

C’mon…an iPhone app that helps with UV protection? I know, that was my first reaction too. But, upon further investigation, Coppertone’s iPhone app (called MyUV Alert) may just have some use after all.

It will look up the UV forecast for your local area so you know just how hot the sun is burning. What is probably the best feature is the reminder alert so that you know just when to reapply.

Reapply? Yes, reapply. I usually forget, too.

The application supposedly will give you personalized suncare recommendations for your family, though I find that part a little less appealing. I mean, doesn’t everyone need sunscreen?

So, for the mom who has everything covered for the beach vacation, try it out and tell us what you think of it! You can download it from the App Store here. Best of all, it’s free!

I thought I’d give this app a try. I setup the reapply reminders when my husband took our daughter to the park. Worked as advertised. Oh and I might actually use the coupon – A free app that saves me money – Bonus. My one complaint – whats with the big agreement Coppertone?

Something tells me Coppertone’s long agreement is to cover their a**. Since there’s some element of personal safety involved with the app – what if it lets you get burned? – I’m sure Coppertone’s lawyers had a field day.
