As a busy mom on the go, go, go, there is no time for water spills. Unfortunately, there is also no time for making sure the cap is completely on the water bottle before chucking it your bag. Houston, we have a problem.
Well, we did before the nice folks at Contigo sent me a sample of their spill proof water bottle. After a week-long test run, I can attest that the bottle can be chucked into your bag as you sprint through the supermarket parking lot with the Chariots of Fire theme song running through your head without spilling. I chugged on the run, dropped the bottle into a bag of library books and came out with nary a fine.
To drink you simply press a button on the back, release the button, and the bottle is sealed. The patented lid is 100% leak-proof and 100% spill-proof, although my son did manage to spill it down his front a few times, but it was hot and he thought it was hilarious, so no harm done. The bottle is BPA-free and comes with a carabiner clip convenient for mountain climbing (you know, for date night) or attaching to the baby bag while hitting the mall.
Thank your lucky stars to be born in modern times, because along with dentistry and Lady Gaga, we also have space age technology that allows for Contigo water bottles that automatically close when we’re done with them. Yes, you no longer have to think, which is a blessing, because between ushering kids to school and soccer practice and making dinner, there is no time for that, either.
A three pack of Contigo water bottles with auto-seal lid is available on Amazon.com in a variety of colors for $34:
