Roux Maison is a line of environmentally friendly laundry detergents that are safe for all types of washing machines and made with no Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS), Sodium Lauryl Ether Sulfate (SLES), Formaldehyde, Pthalates, 1,4 Dioxane, Parabens, Phosphates, Optical Brighteners, Genetically Modified (GMO) Ingredients, marine pollutants, artificial fragrances, or artificial dyes. Recently, I had an opportunity to sample some of their products.

I really like using the Roux Maison essential detergent for hand washing delicate items. I thought it did a great job on our blankets, towels, and bed linens, too. For our everyday laundry, I didn’t see a noticeable difference from other types of detergent I’ve tried. But, I did feel better about cutting down on the number of harmful chemicals coming into our home.

My laundry room is very small, so I like that the Roux Maison detergent takes up hardly any space and comes in a bottle that’s nice enough to display. However, it required a conscientious effort on my part not to dump a ton of detergent on my clothes.

Roux Maison products are highly concentrated and the proper amount of detergent for a load looks like hardly anything at all. But, you really will get the best results from this product if you follow the directions as stated.

If you or someone in your family has fragrance allergies, I’d recommend using the fragrance free version, just to be safe. But, if you’d prefer a scented product, the Ambrosia detergent smells heavenly. It is made with 100% essential oils and is vegan with no animal testing.

In addition to making laundry detergent, Roux Maison also makes a stain remover. It did a great job of removing stains like chocolate ice cream and fruit punch Kool-Aid from my son’s clothes, although it does seem to work best if you use the stain remover and the Roux Maison detergent together.

Have you tried Roux Maison laundry detergent or stain remover? If so, what did you think?
