During the toddler and preschool years, my son loved playing with Tonka Chuck & Friends cars. They were easy to grab and fun to look at, especially once Disney’s Cars movie became very popular and my son became convinced that all vehicles had their own distinct personalities.
So, when I received a sample of the new Chuck & Friends die cast metal trucks in the mail, I had a feeling they’d be a hit with my young nephew. He does not have any Chuck & Friends cars at home, but his eyes lit up when I showed him the package. He promptly started making “vroom-vroom” truck sounds and drooled all over the Handy the Tow Truck. When his dad tried to play with him, he hid the truck behind his back because he didn’t want to have to share his new toy.
Since I know for a fact my brother has a large collection of Hot Wheels and John Deere tractors he still likes to play with, I don’t blame my nephew for not wanting to share!
There are currently seven different die cast metal trucks in the Chuck & Friends line: Handy the Tow Truck, Chuck the Dump Truck, Biggs the Monster Truck, Boomer the Fire Truck, Rowdy the Garbage Truck, Digger the Dozer, and Soku the Cruiser.
Each comes with a DVD featuring a short Chuck & Friends cartoon. All of the DVDs are different, so you’ll have a nice set for entertaining your little one if you end up collecting all of vehicles. Fourteen more characters are scheduled to be released in Fall 2012.
Retail price for the trucks is $4.99, so they’re perfect for whenever you need a small treat for your child or a party gift for one of his friends.
