Chewelry: Jewelry That Children Are Supposed To Chew On

I recently told you about Smart Mom Jewelry…necklaces and bracelets that look fashionable but are actually made for babies to chew on when teething. That was a fun pick to share, and I still wish I would’ve known about it when my kids were teething!

But what about for people that MUST bite, chew or fidget? Do you know anybody with with autism, ADHD, Tourette’s Syndrome, Down Syndrome, or SPD? They might really be interested in this product.

chewelry

It’s called Chewelry, and it’s made by Kid Companions. These non-toxic, colorful, plastic chewable pieces of chewelry that children can wear. Its a way to keep them from chewing clothes. The pieces are BPA, phthalate, lead and latex free and made for children to teens.

Each piece comes attached to a lanyard. The lanyards are 100% organic cotton. They come in either undyed or dyed. The dyed lanyards are hand-dyed and pre-washed with plant-based ingredients. The breakaway portion of the lanyard is small and lays flat. It was designed for children and meets safety standards. And while it is not meant to be chewed on, it is also BPA, lead, latex and phthalate free.

I did some reading about this product and it got really good reviews. I don’t know much about these kinds of products, but I felt that it would help parents who have children with these issues to know that these products are available to them.

Every now and then, I find a product that really is worth letting others know about…this is one of those products. If you know anybody that could benefit from Chelewry, please help spread the word.

I like the name, so appropriate. I appreciate that you are bringing this up, because though I dont need it, Thank G-d, there are plenty others who do. It is all we can do to applaud and help them, and welcome them into our mind and heart.

What an interesting item. Never would have thought of it, but it makes sense if it is filling a niche for parents with children who are driven to suck, bite or chew their hair or clothing. Hopefully it will work for them.
