Chalktrail for Scooters Lets Kids Create Unique Works of Art
If your child has a scooter, the Chalktrail for Scooters looks like lots of fun. The device clamps on to any standard sized foot powered scooter with no tools required. You add a stick of chalk into the into the clamp and watch your child make pretty pictures as she’s playing in the driveway.
I really like this toy because it seems like a good way to encourage kids who aren’t into regular sports activities to get moving. With childhood obesity being such a concern in our society, I think it’s awesome that manufacturers are coming up with ways for kids to get exercise that go behind traditional team sport type activities.
Having a group of kids work together to draw a larger design seems like a good idea too. I think the flower in this photo accompanying this post would be a fabulous addition to your driveway. It might also be a fun surprise if the kids sneak over to Grandpa and Grandma’s house to do a little decorating while they’re out.
One thing I would suggest is springing for the Crayola brand sidewalk chalk when you’re using toys like this. Although we don’t have the Chalktrail for Scooters, I’ve purchased several other chalk toys for my son to use. The cheaper brands of chalk either break easily or don’t have the vibrant colors that Crayola does.
Even though I normally advocate for buying the cheapest possible product, spending a little extra for the good chalk makes a huge difference in how much fun toys like this are.
The Chalktrail is recommended for kids ages 4 and up. It sells for $12.99 on the Creative Kidstuff website.
