Caliber Craft Supplies from CVS Let Kids be Creative on a Budget
If you have a crafty child, you’ve probably discovered that constantly replenishing craft supplies can really drain your budget.
If you’re looking for affordable arts and crafts materials for your kids, I suggest checking out the Caliber line at CVS. This line features everything your little one needs for crafting at home or at school, including construction paper, crayons, and scissors.
The Caliber construction paper is one of my favorite products. This construction paper is affordable, comes in a pad with 40 sheets of eight assorted colors, and is thin enough to be great for paper folding projects.
For Halloween, you can make an inflatable pumpkin by following the instructions in my tutorial on the About Origami site. The pumpkin is made from orange paper that is folded into a traditional origami water balloon and decorated with a crayon design.
The paper needs to be cut into a square before you begin, but this is good practice for helping children develop fine motor skills. Cut squares of different sizes to make a cute Halloween tabletop display. Remember to draw the pumpkin faces before inflating the balloon and position them so the hole that is used to inflate the balloon is on the top. Otherwise, you’ll have trouble getting the pumpkin to sit up properly.
