Teaching kids about the environment and why we should take care of it is important to many parents. I recently came across a cool clothing line that does just that – they create organic clothing and even have a line of books that are all printed on recycled paper. Bot Tots is a green company that you should really check out.
Bot Tots´ mission is to “brighten children’s wardrobes, the environment and our community.” And they also use the site to teach children about the environment. More on that in a minute.
The clothing is for babies and toddlers, and feature robot characters on onesies and T-shirts. They also have hooded towels and robes perfect for both the bath or poolside.
The books by Bot Tots feature the adventures the cute robot characters they have on their clothing. The robots discover ways to positively contribute to the environment and to the community.
There’s even a section on the website that has activities for children such as coloring pages and suggestions for ways they can make a difference.
Not only are they a green company, but they also donate 5% of all sales to In My Shoes, INC., an organization that provides mentors and social events to foster children. They believe in giving back.
All of this sounds great, right? Here’s what I didn’t like about the site: you cannot purchase their products directly from their site and they do not tell you the prices of the clothing and books. In addition, distribution of the product line is not yet wide-spread so it’s hard to find it if you do want to purchase anything, and if you want to locate retailers, you need to click on the “Retailers” page and scroll down to the bottom or you won’t find the information.
After checking out a few online places that carries the Bot Tot line, I can say the clothing is affordable and reasonably priced with onesies starting around $9. The books are slightly more elusive; even in a Google search, I couldn’t locate them.
All that being said, I still do recommend you head over and check out the site because the clothing is really cute!
