BleachSafe Towels

As part of my family’s efforts to be more environmentally friendly, we’ve been trying really hard to reduce our consumption of paper towels.

I admit that I am a rabid user of the things. My hands are slightly wet? Grab a paper towel. Small spill of milk on the table? Grab a paper towel. Too lazy to look for the dish towels? Grab a paper towel.

It is incredibly wasteful, and so we went out and bought a bunch of super thin cotton dish towels to keep on hand in the kitchen.

If the cotton towels are at the ready, I will use them instead of paper towels. But there’s a slight problem with this, and it involves my dear husband.

He is a Tazmanian devil when he cooks in the kitchen. Pots fly, things spill – as the Chief Maid of the kitchen, it causes me grief as I watch the messes mount.

One of the things he’s particularly lax about is working with meat. If he’s prepping a tenderloin or cutting up a chicken, I end up with a scene straight out of C.S.I. on my kitchen counter.

I say, “Make sure you clean all that raw meat stuff up!”

Then my husband takes one of those clean cotton kitchen towels and wipes up the contaminated juices with it.

And then he throws it in the washer, which leaves me wondering…if I wash said towel, how clean will it REALLY be? I can’t bleach it, because the towel will get ruined.

But you CAN bleach these BleachSafe Towels.

They can be laundered in hot water and bleach with no fading, staining or other damage to the towel’s appearance.

The company has a patent pending on the process that puts the bleach-safe protection right into the towel’s fabric – not merely as a coating.

And at $5 each, you can buy a bunch, knowing that they’ll last and last – but the germs won’t.

These towels might be the best thing that ever happened to my marriage! You can buy the BleachSafe home towels here.

Great thing to have. I would have to try out how absorbent it is and how well it wrings. these are important ones for me. Gotta get at least on full wipe down with it if i am to do another load.
