Blankets That Make The World A Softer Place

Blankets That Make The World A Softer Place

My kids love their blankies. My 3-year-old son won’t sleep without it, and carries it around the house. My twin girls also carry them around, but aren’t nearly attached as my son is to his “Blue Blankie”. Yep, he even has a name for it and refers to it as “her”.

It seems like a lot of kids love their blankies, snuggies, lovey…whatever it’s referred to as. So why not buy them one that they’ll love right from the start?

Ambajam’s Cuddle-up Baby Blanket can cause “compulsive cuddling” according to the website. The blankets are made of fleece and are machine washable – a must for moms, right?

The blankets are really large – 29”x35” – and come in a variety of colors, so no matter what color the nursery is, chances are there’s a color that will match.

They’re not cheap, they’re $67. However for as much as my kids use theirs, a high-quality blanket would be worth it to me. And reviews that I read (not on the site, but elsewhere) said these blankets are very high quality and durable.

The company also believes that every child should have a blanket and developed the “Cuddle-up Campaign”. The motto: Making the world a softer place one cuddle-up at time.

The Cuddle-up Campaign focuses on getting blankets to kids in need both domestically and internationally. For every blanket sold, Ambajam donates a blanket to a child in need to provide the soft, warm reassurance of a cuddle.

Okay, I know that these blankets are for kids, but I really, really want one for myself! What about you?

The funny thing about little kids (one of the millions!) is that you can never tell what they will gravatate toward. You might by a really expensive teddy bear that never gets any love, but the dumb little FILL_IN_THE_BLANK is the one thing they insist on having with them, night and day. It’s often the one thing that wears out easily and is damn near impossible to find again to replace. :D

But yeah, if the blanket is what they want, this sure looks like a nice one!

I love the Cuddle-Up Campaign concept and that they donate blankets to kids in need. Reminds me of another great blanket project I learned about recently, The Information Blanket: http://theinformationblanket.org/
