Beehive Pewter Baby Frame and Utensils

Yes, the proverbial silver spoon in baby’s mouth.

Except it’s really pewter.

I guess people do still give pewter baby gifts to newborns and their families. I didn’t receive any. In fact, I had thought this was a gift whose day had come and gone.

But, manufacturers are still out there making pewter baby gifts, so there must still be a market for them. I was interested in more practical gifts, like a night nurse. Ha!

I will admit, these pieces from Beehive Kitchenware are lovely.

The Mama and Baby Bird utensil set, pictured above, is 4.5 inches tall and made of lead-free pewter. It’s really a sweet and delicate set.

The matching fork and spoon cost $42. In addition to the bird pattern, there are rabbit, ABC, tiger and heart designs available.

Beehive also has a pewter picture frame for baby.

This one is designed with adorable bunnies on it. It holds a picture 2″ x 3″ in size. That’s awfully tiny. But so are babies’ heads.

The pewter frame is also available in an ABC theme. The frames are sold for $60.

These do make darling gifts, especially for first-time parents. But I’m guessing they’d appreciate a free hour or two of babysitting even more!

The Beehive baby gift line is available at numerous online retailers and at Beehive Kitchenware.

right on target. babysitters anytime. even cleaning help, for the spit ups and extra clothing and what not. but pewter, count me out. if id get this gift of $60 bucks, i would say “why on earth did aunt sophie spend so much?”

I agree. The cutlery set is useless. The frame is cute enough, especially for a baptism gift or other occasion you wanted a special keepsake. The only pewter/ silver item I got that I actually use is a Tooth Fairy box for under the pillow. That gets used alot!
