Bags from One & The Same Double as Organizational Tools

I’m a huge fan of reusable shopping bags because I live far away from a good supermarket and tend to purchase a ridiculously large amount of groceries each trip. With the reusable bags, each bag holds a fair amount of food and I don’t have to worry about them ripping and dropping canned goods on my toes.

The moment I saw these recipe tote bags from One & The Same, I fell in love. I’ve seen several magazines and websites proposing that busy moms assemble “dinner kits” and enlist the help of their older children to make each meal.

They usually suggest putting all of the ingredients in a box or a basket of some sort, but these bags would be perfect for that purpose. Or, if you’re like me and often forget your shopping list, you could use them to make sure you’ve remembered everything at the store.

Currently, there are only three recipe bag designs available: Irish soda bread, pasta bolognese, and salad nicoise. The bags are all cream colored canvas grocery bags, regardless of which recipe design you select. The designs are available for purchase online, as well as in selected New York retail stores.

I would love to see a more diverse assortment of recipe bag designs from One & The Same, although I suspect you could make your own version by using computer clip art and iron-on transfer paper. Maybe we’ll eventually see an Etsy shop or two devoted to this project?

What do you think of the recipe tote bag idea? Is this a product you’d buy for yourself or as a gift for a fellow mother?

These are freaking adorable! I love the font they used. It would make a great gift to fill one of the bags with all the ingredients!

I’m kinda of addicted to cute reusable bags, so yes! Especially if you gave as a gift!

Reusable bags are so much more fun than store bags. I recently made my husband one with batman fabric and he uses it to tote all his “junk” around! Paper bags always rip on me too!
