Baby Love Carebook Organizer System

The early stages of parenting are marked by new parents seeking to find order in the chaos.

Babies never do what the textbooks say they’re supposed to do. When my firstborn didn’t play by the rules, I decided to put my corporate skills to good use. I began logging all of the kid’s feedings in a spreadsheet to make some semblance of the details or find patterns in the behavior.

Nobody had told me that just when you think you have the kid’s routine figured out, they change it up again. But, while making the spreadsheet, I sure did feel totally and completely in control.

That’s the driver behind the Baby Love Carebook Organizer System.

This is a standard executive 7″ x 9″ 3-ring binder that contains everything you need to track your baby’s weird and unpredictable behavior.

You can put your own calendar or address book pages inside the binder if you have them.

Included with the Carebook are 8 tabs chock full of helpful hints. There are 30 Day Caresheets, which are divided by hour and column. The first column is to note what activity happened at what time; the second column is a comments field.

So let’s say your kid is not eating as much as you think he should. You can use the caresheets to track his entire day, so you can try to pinpoint the cause of the problem.

The Carebook also includes Routine Caresheets and Allergy Caresheets, if you’re trying to determine if your child has a food allergy or not.

Baby Love sells extra Caresheets in packs, as well as Doctor Visit Caresheets, so you can remember everything that’s said during visits.

The Baby Love Carebook is way cuter, and more portable, than my spreadsheets ever were. It’s a great shower gift idea, too.

The Baby Love Carebook is $40 and can be purchased at the Baby Love Carebook website.

Wow, seriously? That looks like you need a lot of brain cells to operate on a sleep-deprived mommy. Remembering to feed them, and yourself once in a while, was all I was able to manage.

Thanks so much for the write up! I think you’ve explained the Carebook better than my web site.

And, Penny W., truly you would not be so sleep-deprived if you could use the system for just one week. (It sounds like you are past the baby year, but many other readers will relate.) I didn’t get my act together until my first – extremely fussy – baby was 8 mos. old, but even then it wasn’t too late.

Even now that I’m past the baby years with my three children, the routines we set up are so important to keep everyone happy. I’m a pretty laid back person in general, but kids don’t do well when they don’t know what to expect.

Anyway, thanks again for the completely unsolicited endorsement. It’s rare to find a mom’s blog that will write a true opinion of a product. Most are just out looking for freebies, and I wanted your readers to know that you did not receive anything for this.

But, if your readers would like to try this out, I’ve set up a discount code from now until the end of May, 2011, for $15 off a $40 purchase. Enter Friends15 at checkout to get the discount. Enjoy!
