When my babies were little, I was always worried about brushing their little teeth and keeping their gums clean after all the milk drinking they did. It was hard because they weren’t ready for a toothbrush – but they needed to keep their little mouths clean! I wish I would’ve known about Spiffies Toothwipes back then.
Okay, I know what you are asking…what is a tooth wipe? Spiffies tooth wipes are disposable wet wipes that are specifically designed to clean baby’s mouth and the teeth.
The small towelette is soaked in a liquid containing dissolved xylitol. Now you want to know what xylitol is, right? It’s a safe and natural sweet-tasting extract from plants, approved by the U.S. Food & Drug Administration for use in foods in 1963. You find it in fruits and veggies like plums, raspberries, strawberries and cauliflower.
It’s simple to use. You wrap the wipe around your index finger and apply it to the mouth surfaces in a scrubbing motion. The tooth wipe is “dual actionâ€. The textured towelette removes dental plaque from the front baby teeth and the xylitol rich liquid released into the mouth during the wiping process has been proven to reduce cavity causing bacteria on the teeth.
Spiffies are pleasant tasting and can even be used on adults who have sore gums. Pretty cool, huh? And they aren’t expensive – you can find them at drugstore.com for just $5.49.
What I want to know is, have you used Spiffies before? What did you think? If you haven’t, would you try them?
