Anastasia Knows Her Brows! Brow Wiz Is Fantastic.
Up until recently, I had never found anything that made taking the time to fill in my brows worth it. They’re fairly thick anyway, but they could use a little help. Powder didn’t seem to last long, even though I could get a pretty good color match. Most pencils I tried from the drugstore looked fake and too light or too red for my hair.
I saw the Anastasia Brow Wiz pencil by chance on a YouTube video about something other than brows, and the girl used a shade called Medium Ash. It looked fairly cool-toned without being gray, and she had full brows that looked 10 times better after using the pencil to even them out, so that was enough to make me go to Sephora to give this thing a try.
Filled in brows make it easier to wear less eye makeup, so it saves a little time in the morning and you just look fresh and pretty without appearing overdone. Oh, the things you observe by accident on YouTube…
This has a retractable waxy pencil on one end and a stiff spoolie on the other. I like to start in the middle of my brow and make short, hair-like strokes up toward the front and then back through the tail. I can even draw on a few extra hairs at the tips to make up for the fact that my eyebrows end a little too soon. Then I run the spoolie through to make sure everything blends together.
It looks totally natural and lasts well all day (at least on me) without even powdering over it.
The color selection is great. The medium ash shade would match a wide range of hair colors, from light brown to black, but there are also caramel, ash blonde, brunette, ebony, and soft brown. They’re all completely realistic shades.
The brow pencil retails for $21 and you get .085 grams of product.
