We have all heard of the convertible beds that converts from a crib to a toddler bed to a full size bed. What if I told you that there was a high chair that converted from a high chair to a toddler chair to a regular chair? Would you buy it?

Enter Svan. Svan combines functionality, safety and durability with a modern style. The chair is made from bent birch wood, and is built to last…it can support up to 250 pounds!

There are several colors to choose from, and you can also purchase cushions for it as well. The cushions come in a variety of colors so you aren’t stuck with a crazy pattern or cartoon characters – it will fit in with your kitchen or dining room decor.

The chair is ergonomic, and the  plastic detachable tray is BPA-free and phthalate-free.

And I mentioned it grows with your child, right? From the time your child can sit up to adulthood, the high chair converts. You can see a demonstration of how it converts here – just click the ‘demo’ tab.

This chair isn’t cheap – I hopped around looking for the best deal and it looks like you can find it for about $270. But if you think of it as a piece of furniture and not just a high chair, it seems pretty cost effective considering you can keep it forever!

I wish this high chair would’ve been around when I was shopping for high chairs. Would you consider purchasing such an expensive high chair?

I’m not all that sure. I mean, on one hand, its this amazing and usefull thing, because what do you do when the child outgrows the highchair, besides for making a garage sale. on the other hand, what do i need a mismatched other chair sitting around, unless my child feels like a queen in her own chair all her life.

I just borrowed one from a friend who was done with it. We used nearly two years, then gave it back. Presto! Then a few years after that, baby #2 comes along. Should I have bought a high chair the first time? Maybe. But instead I just borrowed ANOTHER high chair from ANOTHER friend who was done with hers … Presto! No money, no leftover furniture. Eco-friendly too!

but yes, it’s a very nice chair if you are the baby of an architect. :)
